Every year, the UK expresses its unequivocal support for The Royal British Legion's charity work through the Poppy Appeal.
The 2011 Poppy Appeal was launched on Thursday 27 October and is the culmination of our 90th anniversary year.
In this special anniversary year Caerphilly County Borough Council staff worked hard to support this campaign, by giving generously and they purchased over 1200 special commerative poppy pins which added more than £3000 to the usual collection and they wore their poppies with pride.
Supporting this fantastic cause is even more poignant for Caerphilly County Borough Council given its very close relationship with The Royal Welsh, who were conferred with the Freedom of Caerphilly county borough back in September 2010.
