Armed Forces Day for 2012 for Caerphilly County Borough is Saturday 16th June. Events after this date are being held across the country as an opportunity for the nation to show its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops, to service families, and from veterans to cadets.
Caerphilly County Borough Council is getting involved, by holding its own parade and flag raising ceremony on Saturday 16th June 2012 at Caerphilly County Borough Council's headquarters, Penallta House in Tredomen, Ystrad Mynach. This year we are holding a family day fete after the main parade and will be raising money for the British Legion.
The event will build on that held in 2011, and will involve veterans from the Royal British Legion, Caerphilly County Borough Council and we are hoping as last year the Royal Welsh's Regimental Goat, will lead the parade.
For further information on how to get involved in this event, please contact Hayley Lancaster at Caerphilly County Borough Council on 01443 864380.
