Bluetongue

Bluetongue is a viral disease, which is transmitted by the bite of infected midges. It affects all ruminant animals including sheep, cattle, deer, goats and camelids but does not affect horses or pigs. As Bluetongue is a viral infection there is currently no direct cure and vaccination is the best protection against the disease.

For up to date information on the legal measures in place for Bluetongue please visit the Welsh Government website.
