Community Business Support Fund provides financial support to help eligible new businesses develop & grow.
This is a flexible grant scheme delivered through a partnership with UK Steel Enterprise. The fund is designed to help residents of Caerphilly county borough to set up a full-time business for the first time, where they are not able to access funding from any other source.
Business start-ups in all business sectors may be considered (excluding retail). Applicants must be a resident of Caerphilly county borough and the business itself must also be located within the county borough. At least one of the owners or directors must be employed full time in the business.
Eligible costs could include:
- Capital equipment
- ICT equipment
- Development of websites
- Marketing
- Building works to business premises
Expenditure incurred prior to grant approval is not eligible for grant funding
Grants of up to 50% of eligible project costs to a maximum of £500. Award of the grant is entirely at the discretion of Caerphilly County Borough Council.
The applicant must provide a business plan with a minimum of one-year cash flow forecast and projected profit and loss. Two comparable quotes are also required.
The business must provide full time employment for the applicant (min 30 hours).
The business must not have been started prior to application and approval. Proof of expenditure will be required for all items claimed for. A business bank account must be set up. Other terms & conditions apply.
