As people get older they are sometimes less well able to look after themselves. For example they may need help with:
- Personal care, such as help getting in and out of bed, bathing, washing, dressing, cooking, going to the toilet.
- Mobility, such as getting up and down stairs, moving around the house.
- Combating social isolation and loneliness
- Mental health problems, for example, confusion
Caerphilly County Borough Council organises and provides a range of services for older people. These can be arranged following an assessment of needs to provide help to live at home to maintain independence or for those where this is no longer possible, residential and nursing care.
If you, or someone you know, needs help or if care and support has already been organised by social services for an older person and changes are now needed please get in touch by calling ASDIT on freephone 0808 100 2500.
If you wish to organise care services yourself without the help of Social Services, details of care providers are available on our Registered providers of care webpages, which includes providers of residential, nursing and domiciliary care providers in the area.
