We are responsible for keeping the highway clean and free from spillages and obstructions. Spillages can include oil, gravel, sand or dropped cargo.
Spillages of material on the road can lead to road traffic accidents and particularly hazardous to those riding motorcycles and bicycles.
Reporting a spillage or obstruction
If you have been involved in an accidental spillage or witness an incident of spillage or obstrction on the highway, please report it to us in one of the following ways:

We are not responsible for clearing spillages on private roads or private land – it is the duty of the landowner to ensure the area is cleared.
