Rugby Development Centre

The Rugby Development centre at Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre is where budding Gavin Hensons' and Gethin Jenkins' are put through their paces as they try to emulate their Welsh Grand Slam heroes and make it all the way to the top.

The centre is for players who are in school years four and five and the emphasis is on fun. The centre is looking to expand into the older age groups from year nine to eleven over the next few years. The Rugby Centre also aims to improve local young player's existing skills as well as developing within them a more comprehensive understanding of their positional roles within the team as a whole.

All the coaches at the development centre are qualified to level two and have completed the preliminary award in SAQ. If you would like further information on the centre as a coach or as a parent regarding your Childs participation please contact the Sports Development Team.
