RUGBY DEVELOPMENT - SCHOOL SPORT

There are over 100 school based rugby teams in Caerphilly CBC taking part in a full season of fixtures and festivals. Schools rugby is the ideal platform for young people to get involved in rugby and begin to develop their talent.

Year 7 Super 12
12 schools from across the borough compete in the Caerphilly CBC Rugby Development competition. The tournament is run over a season of fixtures and is aimed at providing appropriate levels of competition for players aged 11 and 12.

Caerphilly School Sports Association - Rugby
There are a number of CSSA events run throughout the year where the focus is on fun a development. Festivals include a Year 9 10 a-side festival and a number of girls rugby tournaments.

BigTackle - Raising awareness of men’s health
This has become an annual event run by Caerphilly CBC Rugby Development in conjunction with Caerphilly CBC Health Alliance. The event focuses on raising awareness of men’s health issues through the medium of rugby. Every year there is a year 11 schools tournament followed by a blockbuster main event in the evening.
