Welcome

More than 6.6 billion people live on planet earth, all sharing a finite pool of resources. There is now widespread recognition of the un-sustainability of our current ways of living and developing. World population is expected to reach 8 billion by 2030 placing even greater requirement on us to deliver a better quality of life using less resources: ”living better, using less”.

Sustainable development aims to enable all people to meet their basic needs and enjoy a better quality of life without compromising the quality of life for future generations.

Sustainable development cannot be achieved by any organisation or individual working in isolation.  We are working hard to help businesses and schools to become more sustainable, and for individuals to embrace sustainable living.

Health

Healthy lives are the basis of our quality of life. With us all living increasingly busy lives it is not always easy for us to look after ourselves by eating healthily and taking enough exercise.

But 80% of Caerphilly county borough is countryside! So this month why not take advantage of some of the wonderful local landscapes and enjoy a healthy walk or visit one of our 5 country parks.
