Caerphilly county borough council is the 5th largest local authority in Wales and employs around 9,000 people making it the largest employer in the area and 10th largest in Wales.
The council delivers a wide range of services to the 170,000 people living in the Caerphilly county borough including education, environmental services, highways, leisure facilities, planning and social services.
A corporate management team led by the Chief Executive, and four Directors undertakes day-to-day operation of the council's business. The council operates a cabinet style of local government, led by a Leader of council who is supported by eight cabinet members.
The main administrative offices of Caerphilly County Borough Council are located at a number of sites, three in the Ystrad Mynach area and three in the Blackwood/Pontllanfraith area
