Local Housing Strategy
Local Housing Strategy 2021-2026
A new Local Housing Strategy is currently under development and to assist in this process in the Summer of 2020 the Council appointed housing consultants Arc4.
The purpose of the new Local Housing Strategy will be to set out the Council’s ambitious plans to address local housing priorities and associated challenges, whilst maximising the socio-economic benefits of the investment in housing that will take place over the next 5 years. The new Local Housing Strategy is expected to be introduced in late 2021.
As part of the development of the new Local Housing Strategy both the Council and Arc4 will be undertaking a series of engagement events to provide stakeholders and residents with the opportunity to feed into the development of a draft Local Housing Strategy. A consultation exercise on the draft Local Housing Strategy is expected to take place between July and August 2021.
We really want to hear the views of stakeholders and residents. However, the pandemic and national social distancing guidance means it has not been possible to undertake any face to face engagement opportunities through the development of the new Local Housing Strategy. Although, every effort will be made through the development process to provide both stakeholders and residents with the opportunity share their views and help shape the overall strategic direction of the strategy.
If you require any further information or would like to be involved in the development of the strategy, please contact the Council at: email@example.com.
As part of the engagement events the Council will be collecting a range of information from stakeholders and residents.
