Council Leader visits Newbridge vaccination centre

Cllr Philippa Marsden, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council has visited the mass vaccination centre at Newbridge Leisure Centre to find out how the roll out of the new vaccination programme is going.

The Leader witnessed first-hand how well-organised the whole operation was and thanked the amazing NHS staff, council workers and the army of volunteers who have helped to set up the site, and who will keep it running over the coming months to give hope to so many of our communities.

This facility, along with the local testing centres represents the latest positive step in the battle to stop the spread of this awful virus and ultimately get us back to a normal way of life.

Cllr Philippa Marsden, Leader of Council said “I would urge anyone who has been invited to get a vaccine, to come forward and attend. I can assure you from what I’ve just seen it will be a safe, well-managed and stress-free process. I would like to thank all involved for their efforts.

Remember, you do not need to do anything in order to get the vaccination. All eligible residents will be contacted with an appointment, so there is no need to ring your GP, health board or the council to make enquiries.”
