Applications now open for Childcare Offer
Posted on : 10 Feb 2021
Caerphilly County Borough Council would like to remind eligible parents of children aged 3 or 4 years old that applications are now open for the Childcare Offer.
There is a potential to save thousands in childcare costs which is available throughout Caerphilly county borough to eligible families.
Children are eligible from the term following their third birthday. Eligible parents must:
Have a child aged 3 or 4 who is able to access part time education
Earn less than £100,000 per year
Earn the equivalent of working 16 hours or more per week at National Minimum Wage
Live in Caerphilly county borough
Children are entitled to up to 20 hours of Welsh Government funded childcare in addition to the 10 hours already provided by the part-time Foundation Phase and up to 30 hours of childcare during the school holidays.
Cllr Ross Whiting, Cabinet Member for Learning and Achievement said, “Applications are now open for the Childcare Offer which is available to parents living throughout Caerphilly county borough. I would urge parents who think that they may be eligible to apply as the funding could potentially save families thousands of pounds per year until their child is offered a full time education place. Parents who think that they may be eligible can also use the eligibility checker which can be found on the Council’s website”.
The application process is outlined in 3 simple steps, all of which is detailed on the Council’s website
www.caerphilly.gov.uk/childcareoffer
or call Caerphilly Family Information Service on 01443 863232 for more information.
