Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre achieves Silver standard in their MOVE Quality Mark Assessment
Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre have been awarded a Silver MOVE Quality Mark to recognise their excellent provision of the MOVE Programme.

The MOVE Programme is an activity-based practice that enables children and young people with physical disabilities to sit, stand, walk, and transition as independently as possible. Trinity Fields has quickly become a fantastic example of the MOVE Programme since starting the programme in 2019. Trinity Fields have grown their MOVE provision to support a number of pupils across the school to gain functional movement skills that will increase their independence and overall quality of life, with plans to gradually increase the number over the coming months.

Verity Sowden and Emma Dyer, the representatives from MOVE Europe who conducted the Quality assessment, wrote: “Trinity Fields is a committed MOVE team who clearly understand the ethos and the impact of the MOVE Programme. …… (The team) ensure that MOVE continues to be embedded in the school and supported by Senior Leadership. It is fantastic to hear of case studies where the MOVE programme has not only improved the opportunities of the pupils using the programme but also the family/support network around that pupil.”

Leanne Boardman, Assistant Head at Trinity Fields added: “Introduction of the MOVE programme at Trinity Fields has been an exciting development, enhancing the range of opportunities offered to our pupils.

"We have benefitted greatly from close partnership working with our physiotherapist Jo Wood, who has helped drive the programme forward so successfully. The increasing independence that our pupils are developing as a direct result of this has impacted not only the pupils, but also their families.

"Involving pupils, parents, carers and therapy staff in the assessment and goal setting process ensures a real sense of ownership of the programme, and we are seeing clear impact of this in the amazing progress the pupils are making.”

Emma Ilejco, parent of one of the pupils on the MOVE programme stated: “C is very proud of herself and likes the independence it has given her. MOVE has made a massive difference to our family”
