CCBC gearing up to support local businesses

Caerphilly county borough council is gearing up to support local businesses impacted by Omicron, following today’s announcement of additional funding from Welsh Government.

Financial support totalling £120million is being made available to eligible businesses across Wales and local authorities will aim to start processing applications from 10th January 2022.

The new business support grants will be available for retail, hospitality, leisure and tourism businesses and their supply chains affected by the move to alert level two.

Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Caerphilly Council said, “We have an excellent track record of processing the various packages of financial support that have been made available over the past 18 months.”

“We have paid out more than £60million to eligible businesses since the start of the pandemic, so we are ready to continue with this support in the New Year.”

It is anticipated that details of the grants and the application process will be made available to local authorities in early January.
