Curry house’s hot new look with council cash

A tasty eatery has been given facelift, thanks to a grant from Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Ajantha Indian Takeaway, 50 Cardiff Road, Bargoed, was awarded more than £5,000 from the Business Enterprise and Renewal Team.

It was spent on a bright new shopfront, chic signage and modern tile flooring. The money also allowed them to pay for a new flat roof and internal counter.

The popular takeaway proudly serves a wide range of spicy dishes, with curries for all tastes.

The owner, Zubair Ahmed, is very pleased with the completed works and said the project has already helped increase turnover.

He said the works could not have gone ahead without support from the Council, adding: “We are delighted with the upgrades, following this grant.”

Councillor Sean Morgan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy, said: “Funding such as this lets local business flourish and reach their potential and helps keep our high streets busy. The newly-upgraded Ajantha Indian Takeaway has a bright future and adds to the diversity of businesses in Bargoed’s Town Centre.”
