Inventive, funny and wondrously enjoyable physical theatre show comes to Blackwood Miners’ Institute.
Blackwood Miners’ Institute would like to invite you to watch one of their stand out shows of the summer. ‘WOMANS (like Romans but with a ‘W’)’ is highly entertaining, riotous fun and it comes to Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Wednesday 19th June at 7.30pm
It’s 44BC, Ancient Rome. Our hero, Leta, has been declared a traitor by the Roman Senate. She is given a punishment worse than death – to be erased from history. But with the help of some mischievous Muses, she rebels against the Republic. Join Leta’s determined journey to reclaim her place in the history books.
Packed full of physical comedy, clowning & original music, WOMANS is a raucous tale of the first female resistance.
Scratchworks is an ensemble of four women who work collaboratively to create highly visual, playful theatre from scratch. They use an eclectic mix of physical movement, puppetry and live music which surprise, entertain and inspire audiences. The company creates original stories with their unique blend of live music, comedy and theatrical trickery.
Scratchworks have previously toured the UK to venues including Battersea Arts Centre, Barbican Theatre Plymouth, Theatre Royal Bath and the Pleasance Dome at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Their work is recognised and supported by Arts Council England.
