Caerphilly Council proudly flies the rainbow flag for Pride Month

Caerphilly Council will once again fly the rainbow flag at Penallta House in honour of ‘Pride Month’.
Pride month takes place in June, and celebrates the LGBTQ+ communities all around the world. This month is usually celebrated with marches and parades however, with coronavirus and social distancing still in place, people will need to diversify and celebrate a little differently this year.
Many social events have been cancelled or postponed but we are encouraging residents to continue to celebrate from the safety of their homes. Online events have been organised and have been named ‘Pride Inside’, which will be a virtual celebration of the LGBT communities.
The celebrations will include various artists, musicians, comedians, DJs and activists all coming together for a series of performances, talks and workshops honouring the LGBT community.
Cllr Carl Cuss, Cabinet Member and LGBT Ambassador for Caerphilly County Borough Council said, “Raising the flag outside our Penallta House office is a way of wholeheartedly letting our residents know that we are committed to championing diversity and inclusion for all.”
