Community Clean-Up Success
Littering hot spots throughout Caerphilly County Borough have been successfully cleaned by volunteers.

Caerphilly County Borough Council teamed up with Caru Cymru to organise Community Clean-Up events in Lansbury Park and Cwmfelinfach earlier this month and proved successful, with members of the public and volunteers working alongside the Community Cleansing Team to help tackle litter.

The Clean-Up saw bags of litter as well as discarded items such as tyres, a barbecue and even a car seat removed from woodland areas such as embankments and disposed of correctly.

Cllr. Philippa Marsden, Leader of Council said: “It was great to be out working alongside members of the public to help tackle litter in my ward. We are a beautiful Borough with so much green space, it is important that we all work together to keep it clean.”
