With the end of the universal credit uplift, furlough and self-employed support schemes, the council and its community partners have put together some resources to enable residents to find help and support they need.

Many residents will be affected by the changes and have worries about how they will cope, but the council, community groups and charities have been working together throughout the pandemic to make sure the right help is available.

During the pandemic, the council and its partners have adapted their services to meet the needs of people caused by lockdowns and loss of income.

The council can help with a range of different issues, including co-ordinating council services and support, and linking residents to community services such as:

Cllr Philipp Marsden, Leader of Council said “The end of the universal credit uplift and the end of furlough will cause uncertainty for many people living in Caerphilly County Borough, but there is support available.”

“Together with community partners we’re able to provide help with essentials like food, fuel and utilities, money and debt management.

“Now that UK government support is ending, residents may have also have concerns about Employment, Housing and Benefits. We want people to know where to find help and start planning now if they are worried about coping this winter. Please get in touch if you need support.”
