Caerphilly Council asks tenants to give views on their rent
Posted on : 21 Sep 2022
Caerphilly County Borough Council is carrying out extensive consultation with its tenants to find out what they think about their rent and whether it offers value for money.
Tenants are being asked to complete a short survey to tell the council if they believe their rent is fair, affordable and if the service they receive is value for money.
The survey
can be found online
; everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw where one person will win £150 in shopping vouchers and another three people will win £50.
Anyone unable to complete the survey online or who require assistance can contact the council’s Tenant and Community Involvement Team on 01443 811433 / 811434 or by emailing
tenantinvolvement@caerphilly.gov.uk
.
Feedback from previous consultation with tenants was considered by the council’s Cabinet as part of its decision on rent setting policy. Cabinet members listened to feedback from tenants and agreed to take the average household earnings from across the county borough into account when setting rents.
Rent in the Caerphilly county borough remains one of the lowest in Wales and the current survey will help it ensure affordability and value for money continue to be taken into account in future years.
