Coronavirus - Schools and community adult learning

Schools across Wales closed on Friday 20th March. This is a Welsh Government decision and we must follow this advice in the interest of public health and the wellbeing of our pupils and staff. CCBC is seeking further clarification about the length of the closure period.

Coronavirus update - Welsh Government announcement regarding school closures:

Free school meals

All children eligible for free school meals who have enrolled with Bridges into Work to receive a frozen meal service will start receiving from Monday 30 March.

Our vehicles will distribute the meals to home addresses across the area and will drop off a week’s supply at a time (5 x frozen meals) for each child.

The distribution will take a number of days to complete. Please refer to the list below to find out which day your child will receive their 5 meals.

Please note: If you made your request to Bridges into Work by Tuesday (24 March) you will receive delivery of meals on Monday 30 March, Tuesday 31 March or Wednesday 1 April. If you made your request on Wednesday (25 March) or Thursday (26 March), you will receive your delivery on Thursday 2 April. Full details are provided in the schedule below.

Please note: Your delivery day may change as demand increases but we will update the delivery schedule accordingly.

Staff will observe all appropriate social distancing guidelines and will place the meals on your doorstep, ring or knock then retreat away from the door when you answer. If there is no answer, unfortunately we will not be able to leave the meals at your address.

This is a huge logistical challenge and it is difficult for us to provide accurate timings for the deliveries on each day, so we ask that you ensure you are available to receive deliveries at any time on your specific day.

If you are not already receiving free school meals and think your child is eligible, please email as a matter of urgency.
