WHQS - Environmental Improvement Programme
What is the environmental improvement programme?
The Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) is a set of standards which all local authority and housing association homes in Wales must meet.
This includes an environmental standard which states that:
“All homes should be located in an environment to which residents can relate and in which they can be proud to live”
An environmental improvement programme is being put together by the council to make sure that this element of WHQS is met.
What sort of ideas do we need?
Ideas could be anything that you think will brighten up your neighbourhood, make it a safer place to live, involve the community and instil pride in your area.
We also ask that projects contribute towards our aim of transforming homes, lives and communities.
- Tree planting
- Improving access
- Community art
- Street furniture
- Creating and enhancing wildlife habitats
- Improving or creating links to countryside or green spaces
How can you help?
We’ve appointed a team of WHQS Environmental Officers whose role will be to consult with local communities about potential improvements.
If you have ideas for improving your community, simply click on the link below and complete the short survey.
You can also telephone the WHQS Environmental Officers on 01443 864398 / 864002 / 864291.
