Reserve a library book or item
If you want to borrow a book, CD or DVD that is held at a different library from the one you normally use, or is out on loan to someone else, you can ask for the item to be 'reserved' for you to collect from your local library.
How it works
- Search the library catalogue for the title you want to borrow.
- Once you've found it, click on the 'Reserve' button and enter your library card number and PIN. If you don't know your PIN (Personal Identification Number) ask next time you are in the library.
- Choose which library you'd like to collect your reservation from.
- When your reservation is ready for collection we'll email you. If we don't have your email address we'll call you. You can also reserve items on the library app, by email, telephone or in person at any library.
NOTICE: From 16 March until at least 15 May 2020 the Library Service’s Computer Management System will be unavailable in order for essential maintenance to be carried out. The online library catalogue will be unavailable which means you will not be able to renew or reserve items online during this period. Fines for overdue items will not be charged during this period or during the COVID-19 period of closure.
Library Services apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
