Proposed new crossing facilities and pedestrian access improvements Fleur-de-Lis, Pengam - Consultation

Opened

1 November 2019

Closes

25 November 2019

Overview

The scheme will deliver the INMC47 improvement included in the Approved Active Travel Integrated Network Map.

The consultation aims to collect the views and opinions of local residents including school staff and pupils on a proposed scheme that will enhance pedestrian crossing facilities and opportunities in the Fleur de Lis community. A pedestrian crossing survey has enabled us to collect evidence of the crossing demand/needs and to develop the proposed scheme.

The consultation proposal includes the following improvements:

  • Crossing facilities in the existing signalised junction (A4049/B4254)
  • A new signalised puffin crossing connecting to an improved path.
  • Tactile paving and modifications to paths and hand rails to improve pedestrian access.
  • An improved gateway at the start of the 30mph Speed Limit and additional warning signs and carriageway markings

In order to enable participation a consultation event has been arranged at Lewis Girls School on 16 July 2019 between 16:30 and 18:30. Officers of the Council will be available to answer your questions at the event. Should you be unable to attend this event, you may also view the proposal and submit views and comments via a questionnaire on this web site until 23 July 2019 after this period the Council will assume that you do not wish to make any observations.

Why are we consulting

To ensure that the residents are able to provide their views on the proposed scheme and to enable us to consider any suggestions.
