Sunday 19 May, Caerphilly Town Centre

The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K is set to return for the sixth consecutive year on Sunday 19 May 2019 along with the Team Challenge and the Caerphilly 2k.

With 2500 runners of all abilities descending on Caerphilly from across the country to enjoy the event, organisers are hoping that the 2019 event will be bigger and better.

Set in the shadow of the spectacular Caerphilly Castle, the Caerphilly 10k will both start and finish on Crescent Road. Runners will have the opportunity to run a good time on a relatively flat course with some undulating points. The course will lead participants in and around the town centre, passing iconic landmarks including the giant cheese sculpture and Tommy Cooper statue along the way and offering great views of the medieval castle, which dominates as the stunning backdrop to the event.

The course record was set by Owain Jones who passed the finish line at an amazing 31 minutes and 17 seconds and many elite and competitive entrants are expected to try and take on the record for 2017.

The event is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council, sponsored by Bryn MeadowsGolf, Hotel and Spa and is supported by Welsh Athletics, Run Wales and Sport Wales.
