The scheme will deliver the INMC24 improvement included in the Approved Active Travel Integrated Network Map
The consultation aims to collect the views and opinions of local residents including school staff and pupils on a proposed scheme that will enhance crossing facilities and improve walking and cycling provision, linking to the National Cycling Network.
The proposed scheme, which is funded by Welsh Government, will provide the following improvements:
New crossing facilities on the B4254 and modifications to existing junction to prohibit vehicular access,
Improved traffic calming measures along B4254 using SLOW/ARAF carriageway road markings,
Improved informal crossing facilities along Glyn-Gaer Road near Glyn-Gaer Primary School,
Resurfacing of an existing stone dust pathway on the periphery of the Cwm Calon Development,
308m of new footpath construction connecting the existing pathway to the NCN route 47.
