Title

Public Consultation on the Public Spaces Protection Orders relating to anti-social behaviour and drinking alcohol in a public place

Date opened

Friday 23rd July 2021

Date closes

Thursday 2nd September 2021

Overview

Caerphilly County Borough Council is inviting local people to have their say on the proposal to vary, extend and introduce new Public Space Protection Order’s (PSPO) relating to anti-social behaviour and drinking alcohol in a public place within Caerphilly County Borough.

Why are we consulting

Caerphilly county borough council has several existing powers in relation to anti-social behaviour and drinking alcohol in public places within the county borough. The Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) has allowed the Council to introduce a range of restrictions that have helped control anti-social behaviour in our communities.

The Council is proposing to continue using these powers through:

  • extending the current PSPO’s for a further 3 years,
  • varying some of the existing areas to include additional restrictions for anti-social behaviour,
  • introducing several new areas.

Documents

A full list of all areas currently covered by the PSPO’s are attached.

Ways to give your views

Online survey (forms questionnaire), postal survey available on request.

Date results are expected

7th September 2021

Expected outcomes

Support for the proposal, which promotes safe access to public places throughout the county borough.
