Ty Du, Nelson - New business units

Ty-Du-industrial-units-762.jpg

The Ty  Du Strategic Site is situated within the settlement boundary of Nelson, Caerphilly and lies immediately south of the A472 Nelson By- Pass. The 19HA plateau has secured significant public sector and EU funds for a sustainable mixed- use development masterplan, including new highways and access infrastructure, provision for 200 homes and 3.8HA of land designated for quality employment floorspace.

The first phase of development works, including the essential site preparation and construction of the enabling highways infrastructure, was completed in 2019.

The next phase of the Ty Du development will focus on the site’s “Commercial Area” and is due to commence later this year. The project will be delivered by Caerphilly County Borough Council in partnership with Welsh Government and will develop approx. 1Ha of land at the south western corner of the site. This phase of works will bring new quality employment premises to Nelson, helping to support the local economy at a critical time.

The scheme will construct up to 4 high quality buildings comprising a total of 1300 square metres of floor-space.  Each building has the potential to be subdivided into 2-3 smaller units and are designed with a high specification external façade, with a flexible internal layout to suit a range of business uses. The proposed site layout includes generous operational space, car and cycle parking, external seating and break out areas within an attractive landscaped “courtyard” type setting, including new trees and hedgerows.

The project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government with additional investment from the Council and Welsh Government.
