Nomination papers can be delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, Bargoed House, 1 St Gwladys Way, Bargoed CF81 8AB on any day after the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on 19 July, 2024.
Alternatively Nomination papers can be submitted via email to nominations@caerphilly.gov.uk no later than 4pm on 19 July, 2024. Files should be either pdf or jpeg format and include the area you are standing for in the subject heading. This address is for the formal submission of forms only, please contact electoral services to arrange for an informal check.
Please note: It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure that the Returning Officer receives nomination forms in the correct way by the required deadlines.
An electronic read receipt from the Returning Officer is not confirmation that the nomination is valid. The Returning Officer will send a notice to inform candidates of their decision as to whether or not their nomination is valid.
Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer at Bargoed House, 1 St Gwladys Way, Bargoed CF81 8AB during the times stated above.
If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 15 August, 2024 between 7am and 10pm.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bargoed House, 1 St Gwladys Way, Bargoed CF81 8AB by 5 p.m. on 31 July, 2024.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bargoed House, 1 St Gwladys Way, Bargoed CF81 8AB by 5 p.m. on 7 August, 2024.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of disability, for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Bargoed House, 1 St Gwladys Way, Bargoed CF81 8AB by 5pm on 15 August, 2024. The disability must have occurred after 5pm on 7 August, 2024. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on 7 August, 2024.
