Summer comes in September for Caerphilly County Borough
Posted on : 17 Aug 2022
Caerphilly County Borough are preparing for summer in September this year, with two of the Borough’s most popular events.
Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September Caerphilly Little Cheese is set to debut, followed by the return of Blackwood Beach Party on Saturday 10th September.
Caerphilly Little Cheese Festival will take place in Caerphilly town centre forming a music event with a number of music areas throughout Cardiff Road and Castle Court Shopping Centre, as well as a central stage in Twyn Car Park.
The event will be host to local and headline musicians along with numerous food and drink stalls. There will also be music workshops, craft sessions and small funfair rides for the children.
Caerphilly Little Cheese is this year’s alternative to Caerphilly Big Cheese Festival, with development works taking place in Caerphilly Castle preventing the event taking place in its usual format.
Saturday 10th September will see the return of the well-attended, annual Blackwood Beach Party.
Blackwood High Street will be transformed into an urban beach party with plentiful sand, deckchairs and buckets and spades to keep the whole family entertained.
A large number of funfair rides will bring life to the one end of the high street with stalls, attractions and a giant beach taking over the other end! Blackwood Town Council will also be arranging their feature stage with a full entertainment programme all day incorporating local singers, bands and dance acts.
Councillor Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration & Climate Change said: “We are thrilled to welcome back two of our most attended events, that have been very much missed since pre COVID.
“From events like these, to top tourist attractions and fine dining options, Caerphilly County Borough has so much to offer for residents and visitors alike this summer.”
