The regeneration and development
of the former Oakdale Colliery site
is a prime example of a development
that encompasses long term strategic
vision with partnership working
to access funding from a range of
sources including the European Union.
The development has, and continues
to, be sensitive to the needs of
both the community and environment.
The 400 acre site was formally
the location of Oakdale Colliery
and has taken 6 years and over £10
million to reclaim, creating one
of the largest plateau in the South
Wales Valleys of 100 acres. On completion,
the Business Park has the potential
to pump 5,000 jobs into the local
economy to the tune of £100
million per year.
The site has already attracted
major inward investment projects
and a £9.4 million mixed development portfolio has recently been completed. Future proposals for the site include a business centre (designed for small businesses), 3 further office pavilions and also a low carbon building,
providing a blend of properties
to suit the needs of modern business.
