GAVO support and advice

GAVO provides support and advice for community and voluntary groups, social enterprises as well as individuals who are interested in helping and supporting their communities. GAVO also provides direct services in communities across Gwent.

The following advice, guidance and support is available free or at low cost:

  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers and identifying volunteering opportunities
  • Accessing funding

  • Organising community events
  • Community action to access services and improve community facilities
  • Providing networking opportunities with other local groups and communities of interest
  • Providing opportunities for partnership working and involvement in local strategies
  • Opportunities to infl uence local, regional and national policy

  • Membership of the Voluntary Sector Liaison Sub Committee

  • Membership of GAVO for local groups with Voluntary Voice magazine, regular information bulletins, local forums and networks, voting rights at the AGM and election to local management committee
