Converting a civil partnership to a marriage fees
The fees for couples to convert their civil partnership into marriage under the various procedures from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 are:
Standard procedure (providing information and signing in one appointment)
- Where: Register Office or local registration service point
- Fee: £45 per couple - nationally set statutory fee
Two stage procedure
Stage 1- providing information to the Superintendent Registrar and checking the evidence
- Where: Register Office or local registration service point
- Fee: £27 per couple - nationally set statutory fee
PLUS
Stage 2 - signing the declaration
- Where: Superintendent Registrar’s attendance at Penallta House

OR
- Where: Superintendent Registrar’s attendance on approved premises

OR
- Where: Superintendent Registrar’s attendance at a religious building registered for the marriage of same sex couples
- Fee: £91 nationally set statutory fee

- Where: Superintendent Registrar’s attendance at a conversion into marriage according to the Jewish faith or Society of Friends
- Fee: £91 nationally set statutory fee

Housebound procedure
- At the residence of a housebound person

Detained procedure
- At the place of detention

Procedure where one party is seriously ill and not expected to recover
