In partnership with 9 churches across the Caerphilly county borough, rough sleepers will again be offered a safe place to stay, with warm food and a friendly environment.  Not only will it help us safeguard some of the most vulnerable in our society, but extensive support will be offered to those engaging in the scheme.  All referred cases will be monitored and assessed by the Housing Advice Team to minimise risk and to ensure a variety of support needs are offered.

Stephen Dwyer our Rough Sleeper Coordinator from Cornerstone Support Services Limited will meet with all referred rough sleepers and discuss the projects aims and make an independent recommendation regarding risk management. Stephen will attend each night shelter and support the teams on any possible issues with guests and will offer support to the volunteers. Cornerstone Support Services Limited will work with all guests to improve their housing options during their stay within the night shelter and work alongside the authorities Homeless Officers to help secure housing.

If you know of any rough sleepers in the Caerphilly county borough, you can contact Stephen directly on his mobile 07946 537793 or email him at dwyers1@caerphilly.gov.uk for advice.  Alternatively you can refer the applicant to the Housing Advice Centre at Ty Gilfach or they can contact the team on 01443 873552.
