Youth offending service
At the Blaenau Gwent & Caerphilly Youth Offending Service (YOS) our vision is “Inspiring, motivating and supporting children to live crime free lives.”
We are a dual local authority YOS supporting children in the Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly areas in Gwent.
We help to prevent and divert children from anti social and offending behaviour and ensure children are kept safe and the risk to the public is minimised.
We have a professional, skilled and knowledgeable workforce who value the diversity of children and help them to achieve better outcomes.
We provide effective support to families and victims engaged with the service whilst working to ensure safer, inclusive communities.
REACH is a prevention project for 8 – 17 year olds living in Caerphilly who are at risk of anti-social behaviour and/or offending.
The intervention we provide is voluntary and we work to provide the right support to children and their families at the earlier opportunity.
Engagement will focus on the issues that children and families are worries about and are becoming growing concerns such as concerns around anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and controlling behaviour.
Referrals to the project are from professionals.
