Microchipping
All dogs over 8 weeks of age and equines over 6 months of age must be microchipped.
A microchip is a tiny computer chip which has a unique number that matches up to your pet’s details which are registered on an authorised database.
The owner's contact details are logged on a central database, so should the pet ever go missing or be stolen it can be scanned by the authorities and returned to its owner swiftly and safely.
It's important to keep your pet's microchip details up to date. If you don’t, the chances of you being reunited with your pet if they go missing are much lower.
