Most non-critical services close at 12noon on Thursday 24 December 2019 and reopen at 8.30am on Monday 4 January 2020.

Registrars’ opening hours during Christmas and New Year are:

If you wish to attend the office during this period, please call 01443 863478 during the open hours stated above to make an appointment before attending.
If you have any urgent birth, death, marriage or civil partnership queries outside the stated open hours please call 07771 886 895 or 07813 094 234.
The Register Office will be open after the New Year at 9am on Monday 4 January 2020.
Please Note: The main entrance to Penallta House will be closed. If you need to visit the Register Office during this period, all access is by appointment only and you will be escorted into the building. There is a car park alongside the ceremony room entrance to the right hand side (looking at the building). Please see our opening times and emergency out of hours contact details.
Social services
Social Services Information Advice and Assistance Team will be open on Wednesday 30 December and Thursday 31 December 8.30am to 5pm.

Please note:
- Please ensure all waste and recycling is placed out for collection by 6am.
- Additional recycling will only be collected if placed in clear bags.
- Small amounts of cardboard can be placed in your recycling bin, larger amounts of cardboard can be deposited at Household Waste Recycling Centres. Don’t forget to take Christmas trees to these sites for recycling too!
Household waste recycling centres
Household waste recycling centres will be open as normal except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. For opening times please visit the recycling centres section.
Customer Service Centres
Our main switchboard and customer service contact centre will close at 12 noon on Thursday 24 December and re-open at 08:30 on Monday 4 January 2021. Our Customer Service centres, cash offices and council offices remain closed to the public until further notice due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Cemeteries
Cemeteries are open as normal over the Christmas and New Year period, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.
Libraries
Following the First Minister’s announcement on Saturday 19 December, all library services including Order and Collect and the LibraryLink Home Delivery service are currently suspended. Please note that we are continuing to accept online applications for these services. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Library services wish you a safe and happy Christmas.
Leisure centres
Following the First Minister's announcement on Saturday 19 December, we can confirm that our leisure facilities are closed. Thank you for your patience and support through this difficult year and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We look forward to welcoming you back when Welsh Government guidance permits.
