About the registration service

The Registration Service is responsible for the registration of births, deaths and still-births, for taking legal notices of marriages and civil partnerships and for conducting ceremonies, including marriage, civil partnership, naming, re-affirmation of vows and citizenship ceremonies.

These pages are designed to give you all the information you need to register a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership, book a ceremony or obtain a copy of a certificate.

The Register Office holds almost all the registers for all birth, death and marriage that have taken place in the county borough dating from 1837 to the present day. In addition all Caerphilly registration district civil partnership records from 2005 onwards are held. It is possible to request a copy certificate from any archived register.

We pride ourselves on our Customer Care.  If you have any comments regarding a service you have received from us we would love to hear from you by asking you to complete a short survey.
