School crossing patrols

We currently employ 47 school crossing patrols throughout the county borough that are located on sites near or around various primary and secondary schools crossing children, young adults and adults safely across the road.

The Service is provided through the Road Safety Team and adheres to our criteria for uniform, recruitment and replacement of school crossing patrols. Although school crossing patrols are provided, parents still remain responsible for ensuring their children’s safety on their journey to and from school.

For further information please contact the Road Safety Team.

For details on other key projects and services please visit our road safety programme for children and young people section.
