Oakdale Community Benefit Fund
The purpose of the Oakdale Community Benefit Fund is to support and benefit viable and sustainable communities within the Oakdale area. This fund will enable community/voluntary sector organisations, Community Councils and schools in the Oakdale area to bid for funding to take forward projects they have developed that support the aims detailed below.
Organisations seeking support will be required to show that:
- the project will have a social, economic, cultural or environmental impact on the area or community concerned;
- the project demonstrates clearly that it is responding to needs identified by a community within the Oakdale area, whether that be a geographic community or a community of interest; and
- the project will be managed by a voluntary/community organisation, Community Council or school based within the Oakdale area.
Who’s able to apply?
Voluntary/community based organisations and partnerships with a signed constitution and their own bank account in the communities of Argoed, Croespenmaen, Kendon, Oakdale, Penmaen, Pentwyn and Trinant, Crumlin, Aberbargoed, Markham and Blackwood.

What is the level of grant available?
The maximum grant available is for up to 80% of total project costs, to a maximum value of £3,000. No project will receive a formal offer letter until the full funding package is in place. All funding must be spent by 31st March of the financial year in which the funding is awarded.
How often are grant applications considered?
Completed Grant applications will be scored against a set of criteria and appraised by a Grants Panel consisting of Officers, Members of CCBC and by a representative of the Voluntary Sector.
Applications are continually assessed by the panel and award of the grant is entirely at the discretion of Caerphilly County Borough Council and conditional on funding being available.
