Commercial waste - Hazardous
All businesses must prove that hazardous wastes are being disposed of. Ensuring that measures are in place to segregate, handle and store such wastes.
It is illegal to mix hazardous waste materials or mix them with non-hazardous waste.
Failure to comply will result in legal proceedings.

The Duty of Care is being placed more on businesses, as waste producers. If your business produces hazardous waste, visit Natural Resources Wales.
Unless registered, you will not be able to have hazardous wastes collected.
Types of hazardous waste
Hazardous waste includes, but not limited to:
- Asbestos
- Oil Filters
- Antifreeze
- Brake Fluid
- Lubricating Oil
- Mixed Fuels
- Lead Acid Batteries
- Parts Washing Fluids
- Contaminated Rags and Granules
- Fluorescent Tubes
- Printing Wastes
- Paint
- Spent Oils
- Solvent Wastes, including contaminated packaging and containers.
- Certain Electrical Goods
- Cathode Ray Tube Screens (TVs and computer monitors)
- Other waste materials that were consigned as 'Special Waste'
You must ensure that the company you choose to remove your hazardous waste is licensed. It is an offence to pass waste on to a company not approved by Natural Resource Wales.
