Are you troubled about wrongdoing at work?


The Council has an obligation to maintain and monitor standards of conduct and maintain appropriate arrangements for good governance. Good whistleblowing arrangements reassure employees that they can safely raise concerns and therefore help increase trust and confidence in the organisation.

The independent Whistleblowing charity, Protect, are also able to advise you if you are unsure whether to use the policy or require free, confidential advice at any stage. They can be contacted on 020 3117 2520, web address www.protect-advice.org.uk or by email at whistle@protect-advice.org.uk.

Protect's opening hours are to be as follows.

Monday: 9.30 -13:00 and 14:00 – 17:30
Tuesday: 9.30 -13:00 and 14:00 – 17:30
Wednesday: 9.30 -13:00
Thursday: 9.30 -13:00 and 14:00 – 17:30
Friday: 9.30 -13:00

Protect will speak to callers outside of these times but this will be by appointment only.

The Council’s Whistleblowing Policy aims to encourage and enable employees to raise concerns about malpractice and provide an avenue to receive feedback on any action taken.
