Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Live Vacancy Event Returns for 2023
Posted on : 11 Apr 2023
Caerphilly County Borough Council’s popular Which Way Now? event will return on 24th April 2023.
In previous years the event has attracted hundreds of young people who are seeking employment, education, or training opportunities. It will be open to schools only from 10am- 1pm, and then to anyone who is unemployed or job searching within the public that wants some information and support, between 2pm and 4pm.
Which Way Now? is in partnership with Careers Wales and is jointly organised by CCBC’s Youth Service and Caerphilly Employability Programmes, which aims to support school leavers and young people who are looking for advice and inspiration on what career path to take next. It also aims to focus young people on upcoming exams and shows them potential careers they could go into.
There will be a diverse range of employers and training providers attending who will offer a wide range of advice, training, job opportunities and even some opportunities for same day interviews.
Some examples of what to expect to see on the day include:
Information on college courses from Coleg Y Cymoedd and Coleg Gwent
Information on higher education and university opportunities
Information on apprenticeships and Jobs Growth Wales Plus
Local job vacancies
General careers guidance
Help with job search skills
Same day interviews
There will be a DJ playing live music throughout the day, and there will also be a draw which attendees can enter for the chance to win a one-month free leisure membership.
We are dedicated to providing young people with the Young Person’s Guarantee- a Welsh Government commitment that everyone under the age of 25 would have the offer of support to gain a place in education or training, find a job or become self-employed.
Cllr. Carol Andrews, Cabinet Member for Education & Communities, commented “Following our success in previous years, I am pleased that we are able to host the Which Way Now? Event again in 2023 alongside Careers Wales. We have a continued commitment to providing education and employment opportunities for all young people within the borough.”
Which Way Now? will be held in Caerphilly Leisure Centre on Monday 24th April between 10am and 4pm.
