Blackwood Winter Food and Craft Fair brought thousands out to celebrate the festivities
Posted on : 04 Dec 2023
The second Winter Food and Craft Fair of the year happened in Blackwood town centre on Saturday 25th November.
The fair brought a wonderful 7,627 visitors to the town, it was the busiest day in Blackwood since the Spring Fair in March. There were also 4,730 more visitors than the previous Saturday.
There was a vast array of fantastic entertainment and activities at the fair, such as Santa's Grotto, live music acts, craft workshops, funfair rides, food vendors, and much more.
Small and local businesses benefited from the day's festivities as all the town's high street stores joined in the fun.
Hear what the traders and local businesses had to say about the event:
Gavyn Bolton of McKenzie’s Café said, “Good selection of visitors, we had a lot of new customers with an incredibly busy day, it’s the busiest we’ve seen the High Street in a long time!”
Huw Edwards from Tidal’s commented “Really great day, town looked amazing, good quality of stalls on offer, the hustle and bustle in Blackwood High Street was spectacular!”
Dave Ridley of Ridley's Shoe Repairs & Key Cutting said, “Lots of people, probably the best turnout we’ve had for events, brought a lot of people into the town!”
Emma Locke from Makeup Locker within Heavenly Brows commented “Amazing event this year, what a great turnout and atmosphere!”
Kismet Blackwood also commented “Really productive day, really busy, the weather certainly helped, our shop and tearoom were both full!”
