Caerphilly Council scoops two housing awards
Posted on : 26 Jul 2022
Caerphilly County Borough Council recently scooped a first and second place in two categories at this year’s TPAS Cymru Participation Awards.
Its Older Persons Housing Team won first place for its approach to supporting the wellbeing of some of its most vulnerable tenants and residents. The award recognised the efforts of staff both in its sheltered housing schemes and floating support service.
The Council’s approach in involving communities in the delivery of environmental improvements also won second place at the awards. This work has been carried out by the Council as part of its £260 million Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) programme.
The annual national TPAS Cymru Participation Awards celebrate best practice in involving tenants and communities in housing related services throughout Wales.
Cllr Shayne Cook, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, said “My warmest congratulations to everyone involved in this excellent achievement. Winning these prestigious awards clearly demonstrates the efforts of Team Caerphilly in ensuring we continue to deliver resident centred services where they are needed.”
