New outdoor adventure play area at Llancaiach Fawr Manor
Posted on : 01 Mar 2023
A new outdoor adventure play area has opened at historic tourist destination Llancaiach Fawr Manor, Nelson.
The outdoor adventure play area features a trim trail for children to follow. Caerphilly County Borough Council has also successfully secured an additional £35,000 of funding to deliver a new extension to the play area through Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics 2021 programme.
Following a tender process, Sutcliffe Play Ltd were awarded the contract and the Playpark is now ready to be used. The extension has seen traditional swings, a roundabout, seesaw and springies for young visitors to enjoy.
Outdoor areas at Llancaiach Fawr Manor have also been enhanced with new benches, a new gate entrance to the meadow and planting around the site.
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, the Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism, said “The new play area is a fantastic addition to one of the county borough’s much loved visitor attractions. Young adventurers can now travel back in time at the Manor House, before letting off some steam in the outdoors!
Llancaiach Fawr offers something for all ages and we hope these outdoor improvements will encourage more residents and tourists to visit this unique destination.”
