The Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council has issued a condolence message after the sad passing of former CCBC Councillor David Hardacre.

Cllr. Sean Morgan said, “David, who proudly represented the Darran Valley Ward in the Upper Rhymney Valley for 20 years, sadly passed away peacefully on 15^th November at the age of 83.

David was first elected in 2002, and had a long standing history representing his community as a councillor and also served on the Council’s Cabinet in a number of roles.

He was involved in local government for over 35 years, starting out as a Community Councillor for Gelligaer Urban District Council.  He was a dedicated public servant and champion of his community who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
