Opening times of our HWRCs

There are six household waste recycling centres located throughout the county borough and are open at the following times:

• 1 April to 30 September - 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Sunday (except for closures below)
• ​1 October to 31 March - 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Sunday (except for closures below)​

Centres are open as normal on bank holidays but closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Please note that each recycling centres are closed on the following days:

• Trehir (Llanbradach) closed every Thursday
• Penmaen closed every Tuesday and Friday
• Full Moon (Crosskeys) closed every Sunday
• Rhymney closed every Tuesday and Friday
• Penallta closed every Wednesday and Sunday
• Aberbargoed closed every Monday and Thursday

Please Note: Due to Health and Safety we do not allow pedestrian access at our Household Waste Recycling Centres due to the absence of a safe walking route.

If you have a complaint about a Household Waste Recycling Centre, please report it to us.

You can now sign up for email alerts to be informed of changes to the opening hours of our recycling centres due to bank holidays or adverse weather. We also offer subscriptions to other council services and news.
