Caerphilly NERS classes move online
The Caerphilly branch of the National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is moving classes online to ensure that those referred can continue their programme at home during these challenging times. The service was suspended due to the ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak but the team has worked around the clock to film and develop a series of videos that guides those referred through their usual routines that they would otherwise experience at Caerphilly’s leisure centres.

The catalogue of classes is growing on a daily basis – so take advantage of this fantastic resource and head over to YouTube for the full catalogue of classes. Here is a preview of what you can expect:

The National Exercise Referral Scheme (NERS) is a Welsh Government (WG) funded scheme which is centrally managed by Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) working in partnership with Public Health Wales (PHW) and has been in operation since July 2007.

The aim of the Scheme is to reduce the inequalities in ill health by providing access to tailored and supervised physical activity. The target population is aged 16+ who are not used to being regularly physically active and are at risk of or currently experiencing a long term or chronic health condition.

The Scheme is designed to provide opportunities to exercise that are fun, rewarding and that can be incorporated into everyday life. This channel provides physical activities and information for the members of NERS Caerphilly scheme.
